US expert Peter Pham, director of the Africa Center in the US think tank Atlantic Council, told Maghreb Press Agency that Algeria is in a blatant violation of international law and international conventions on the rights of refugees, given the funds its provides to the Polisario Front, which it hosts on its territory.

Pham stressed that Algeria’s “known” role in the Sahara dispute “through its unconditional support to the separatist movement of the Polisario perpetuates this conflict that poses security risks for the entire region.”

According to Pham, to any objective observer, Algeria’s support to the Polisario front is crystal-clear.
