Mr. Jean Arlet, a consultant at the World Bank and co-author of the latest Doing Business’ report, said that Morocco is “the easiest country to start one’s enterprise in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).”

“For a start-up to kick off, a Moroccan entrepreneur needs an average of 11 days and 5 procedures to complete all required steps, that is less than in Germany, “said Arlet in an interview with weekly “Challenge,” Maghreb Agency Press reported.

The World Bank consultant noted further that “Morocco ranks second in the region in terms of facilitating imports/exports operations after the UAE, noting that a businessman who want to export his products from Morocco needs only 10 days and 595 dollars, which is less than in Japan,” the aforementioned source reported.

“These figures are impressive if we bear in mind that in 2006, Morocco needed 17 days to do it, he went on, adding that this is due to the program of reforms carried out by the Kingdom, given that 3 out of 19 reforms undertaken since 2005 concern cross-border trade,” the said source closed.
