Five suspected terrorists were arrested by the Moroccan authorities, in an event coordinated between the judicial police of Marrakech and the Directorate of Surveillance of the National Territory (DSGT) services.
According to the Moroccan authorities, three of the five arrested terrorists were planning to join ISIS, while the other two were planning to carry out terrorist attacks in Marrakesh using explosive belts.
“The arrests took place Saturday morning,” a statement from the Moroccan Ministry of Interior said.
“The five terrorists will be presented to court at the end of the investigation, currently being carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor,” the statement from the Moroccan Ministry of Interior noted further.
