The second wave of flash floods, which has started last Friday and which has swept various regions of Morocco, especially the southern parts of the country, has left 11 deaths and 2 missing, a provisional communiqué released by Morocco’s Ministry of Interior said.

The said communiqué noted further that eight of the 11 dead passed away following their houses collapsing over their heads, while the remaining three others were swept away by floods.

The Ministry of Interior’s communiqué said that “two people are still missing.”

It is worth reminding that while the provisional death toll of the second wave of floods is currently standing at 11, the first wave was marked by a death toll that floated around 40.
