In the wake of the Moroccan authorities insistence to not declare “mourning days” following the torrential rains and floods that has hit various regions of Morocco’s southern part, which has left at least 51 dead and many others homeless, some Moroccans took to social media to declare “National Morning Days.”

The said Moroccans changed their Facebook and Twitter profile pictures to the one featured above, with an Arabic scripture that reads “Hidad 3ala Arwah Fayadanat Al Maghrib,” meaning in English “Mourning the souls of those who passed away as a result of the floods that hit Morocco.”

Others have launched the #100DHpouraider hash-tag on Twitter with an aim to gather donations and send them to the people afflicted by the disaster.
