A Moroccan citizen who was interviewed by the leading Moroccan news outlet Hespress (video underneath) said that the Moroccan Minister of Interior Mohammed Hassad has lied about the floods casualties in the Moroccan city of Guelmim.

During the 3:20 minutes long interview given to Hespress, the man started by shedding the light on the various casualties witnessed in his Douar [neighborhood], before lambasting the Moroccan authorities and lauding them of critics “for not sufficiently alerting the citizens, for their very late mobilization,  for their lack of support,” and others.

The man also stressed that the authorities did not alert them about storing food for emergencies.

The man, who was very angry during the interview, said that “Mohammed Hassad has lied about the list of casualties upon his visit to the sinister city of Guelmim when he said there is no human nor material casualties,” stressing that “the media should have asked local citizens for a briefing on the situation of the city instead.”

The man further noted that various locals did not find any food to eat nor did they get enough sleep as a result of the heavy torrential rains and floods that has swept the region of Guelmim.

“God said in the holy Quran that we should ‘Obey Allah, the Messenger and those of you who are in charge of your affairs,‘ but they [the Moroccan authorities] should also work [fulfill their duties],” the man closed.
