According to the leading Moroccan daily Akhbar Al Yaoum, FIFA officials in Morocco are currently discussing the possibility of changing the venue of the World Cup Semi-final game, that will see Real Madrid face Cruz Azul, from Morocco’s capital Rabat to Marrakesh.

The decision came following yesterday’s farcical conditions which saw the Australians of Western Sydney Wanderers and the Mexicans of Cruz Azul “pretending to be playing football” in the heavily waterlogged pitch of Moulay Abdallah Stadium of Rabat.

Akhbar Al Yaoum further noted that the FIFA will study this possibility from all perspectives before making a final decision.

It is worth reminding that various Moroccans took to social media platforms, especially Facebook and twitter, to laud of critics those “responsible for this sports-infrastructure-corruption fiasco.”

An old Paint Bucket was used to sponge up the water from the field.

Others, on the other hand, contented themselves with making fun (check images underneath) of the farcical conditions and the last-minute tools used by some officials to patch up the scandal, which included sponges, an old paint bucket, and a huge floor wiper.

Some Moroccans took to photoshop to resort to the help of Morocco’s current media sensation, Allal the sewer unclogger, to imaginary drain the field out of water.
