Two days following the inception of the African cup, the “Moroccan curse” seems to still be hunting down Issa Hayatou. Ghana’s Captain Asamoah Gyan has been diagnosed with Malaria two days before Ghana’s first game in the AFCON against Senegal.

Fortunately, the Al Ain’s striker responded well to the treatment received and left the hospital on Sunday evening, Ghana’s Football Association stated.

According to the same source, “the illness was detected at an early stage and Gyan is responding well to treatment.”

“Doctors will continue to monitor his progress ahead of the Black Stars’ opening Group C match against Senegal in Mongomo,” the aforementioned source noted.
