A statement from Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation said that Salaheddine Mezouar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation “received, on February 12th 2015, at the headquarters of the Ministry, Mr. Christopher Ross, Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for the Sahara, who is visiting Morocco, as part of his regional tour.”

The communiqué said that “this meeting comes after the telephone conversation of January 22nd, between His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him and the UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, during which clarifications were made and assurances were given to the Sovereign.”

“Mr. Mezouar reiterated Morocco’s cooperation with the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General and its support to the facilitation mission which he undertakes, in accordance with the terms of the telephone conversation between His Majesty the King and the UN Secretary General,” the statement closed.
