Morocco’s head of the government, and the secretary general of the Islamic-inspired Justice and Development party (PJD), a party leading the current government coalition, said recently in the wake of a gathering with members of his party in the south region of the country that “the popularity of the PJD will only increase if the opposition keeps opposing us, for the sake of opposing, not for the sake of rationality and a better Morocco.”
“We are here to work, to work hard for the sake of our country,” Benkirane said.
“Don’t get preoccupied with the opposition and the old tricks they are doing,” Benkirane told members of his party.
“May God the almighty bring them back[the opposition] to their senses,”Benkirane stressed.
“For the good of this country, I really hope God will bring them back to their senses,” Benkirane noted.
Before giving his speech, the PJD members of the south region greeted the head of government with a troupe of folkloric Gnawas.
Benkirane gladly joined for a short dance (check out the video underneath).
