Rabat, Morocco(TMT)- The Moroccan authorities released a video featuring the recent secret service operation which resulted in the nabbing of members belonging to a “terrorist cell” that had pledged allegiance to the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, and which was operating in the following cities: Agadir, Tangier, Laayoune, Boujaad, Tiflet, Marrakech, Taroudant, Ain Harouda and Eastern Laayoune.

The video released only concerns the operations in Agadir and Tangier, and shows the firearms and large amount of ammunition Morocco’s secret services seized during the operation, in addition to the tools aimed at making traditional bombs.

The terrorists were nabbed last Sunday in a coordinated series of raids in the aforementioned 9 cities.

A statement from the Moroccan Ministry of Interior said that the terrorists planned “to assassinate political, military and civilian figures.”

It is worth reminding that the operation was undertaken by Morocco’s new investigation police department, the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), an offshoot of Morocco’s domestic intelligence agency (DGST).

The arrest was considered as the most important one in the country since the unveiling of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.
