This new 100m2 house is set to save time and money for the mining, gas and construction industries who require cost effective and fast housing for their employees on site.
According to Steve O’Keeffe, Director of Prefab Building Solutions, “the Fold It design brings the benefit of reduced shipping costs, ease of transportation and build. The mix of flat pack and modular technology allows us to factory control quality for labour intense and difficult on site works while still gaining the benefit of maximising space for shipping efficiencies. A crane is required to place the house on its foundations but everything else can be installed by hand. 6 semi-skilled men can structurally complete the building in just 5 hours – which in remote and harsh conditions is a big plus. Unpredictable weather changes can have a devastating effect on a half built property with no roof.”
“The house can be used as a re-locatable or permanent dwelling – ideal for mining camps for example. Their employees need suitable accommodation that is of a high standard as well as being practical. The house can be shipped around the world and comes delivered as a standard ISO 40ft container.
