Frankfurt, Germany (TMT)- According to a story run in today’s edition of the Moroccan daily Al Massae, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar will be heading soon to Spain to meet with his counterpart Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo. The visit comes just few days following a Spanish judge ruling that there is “evidence of genocides committed by 11 Moroccan officials against Sahraouis” and calling on Morocco to arrest and extradite the Moroccan officials to Spain to stand before justice.

Al Massae said that Salaheddine Mezouar will visit Spain “to try to extinguish the fire caused by the pursuit of eleven Moroccan officials accused of ‘genocide’ by the Spanish justice.”

The daily said that “it is very likely that the Spanish and Moroccan ministers, when meeting, will try to to defuse the dispute raised by the decision of Judge Pablo Ruz.”

“The meeting between the two foreign ministers will also aim at lifting the fog on misconceptions about the rescue of three Spanish cavers, from which two died in the region of Ouarzazate,” Al Masae closed.
