Morocco Provides Intelligence Data To Netherland to Nab an ISIS Terrorist

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- only few days following the newly created Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), an offshoot of Morocco’s domestic intelligence agency (DGST), nabbing members belonging to a terrorist cell that had pledged allegiance to the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, in Agadir, Tangier, Laayoune, Boujaad, Tiflet, Marrakech, Taroudant, Ain Harouda and Eastern Laayoune, the same service clamped down on 6 members who were plotting to undermine Morocco’s security and stability in the tiny Moroccan pocket  of land Salwane, located in the vicinity of Nador, and provided valuable intelligence data to the Netherland arrest a Moroccan living in the said country, who had close links with the foiled terrorist cell.

A statement from Morocco’s Ministry of Interior, relayed by Morocco’s state agency La MAP said that “aware of the importance of security cooperation to combat terrorist and preserve world security and stability, the DSGT provided precise information to the Dutch authorities that has made it possible to arrest a Moroccan living in the Netherland who had close links with the terrorist cell.”

“This Moroccan national was seeking fire arms and explosives to be used in targeting Dutch security forces, the statement noted,” the statement further noted.

“The investigations showed that the members of the cell held secret meetings to prepare their terrorist plots as well as paramilitary exercises in a forest nearby Salwane in order to enhance their readiness in the event of a confrontation with security forces,” the statement closed.
