Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan authorities, condemned with the strongest terms the terrorist attack perpetrated by ISIS, the Moroccan embassy in Tripoli, Libya was subject to.
A statement from Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the wake of the event read the following:
“The main entrance of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Tripoli was, early Monday, April 13th, 2015, targeted by an armed attack which did not leave any casualties, but caused extensive damage to neighbouring buildings.”
“The Kingdom of Morocco, while expressing its deep concern and firm condemnation of this terrorist act which represents a flagrant violation of international law and diplomatic practices, as regards the respect and the guarantee of the inviolability of Diplomatic Missions, calls the Libyan authorities to conduct an investigation to determine the circumstances of this despicable criminal aggression and its perpetrators.
“The Kingdom of Morocco, based on its position of solidarity with Libya in this period of transition which the country goes through, reiterates its support to the political dialogue process, sponsored by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSML), between all political partners in Libya, to meet the aspiration of the brotherly Libyan people for stability, peace and prosperity,” the statement closed.
