Rabat, Morocco (TMT)-In the wake of King Mohammed VI’s “working and fraternity” visit to the State of the UAE, whereby the Moroccan monarch was granted by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan the highest award at the UAE,  the “Zayed” Wissam, Morocco and UAE agreed on the need to reinforce their cooperation in the different economic, development, social, religious, security  and military fields, a statement from Morocco’s Ministry of Interior said.

The statement further noted that “in order to foster the Moroccan-Emirati relations in the field of trilateral  cooperation, it was agreed upon elaborating a new generation of projects to  reinforce south-south cooperation in its development and solidarity dimensions, mainly with African countries, and support their development process as a  strategic orientation to achieve security, stability and global development of  the concerned countries for the good of their brotherly peoples.”

Both Morocco and the UAE agreed as well to cripple the growing phenomena of extremism, with terrorism more and more threatening the security and stability of an array of countries in the MENA.

“The emphasis was also put on the integrated approach to  face the extremist ideology leading to terrorism, in its social and development  dimensions, its clear religious discourse and its security components,” Morocco’s Ministry of Interior statement read.
