Morocco’s Marjane and Acima to Expand in Tunisia, Senegal, and Ivory Coast

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Morocco’s leading hypermarket chain Marjane, and its supermarket affiliate Acima, part of the Marjane holding company are in a full swing mode to expand in an array of African countries, with the list including: Tunisia, Ivory Coast, and Senegal.

For that sake, the leading holding company plans to build, depending on the market needs of each region, supermarkets with the brand name “Acima” or hypermarkets with the brand name “Marjane.”

Marjane is fully owned by Morocco’s Société Nationale d’Investissement (SNI), the holding company of the Moroccan monarch king Mohammed VI.

Marjane holding, in addition to Acima, also owns Electroplanet (a home appliances chain) and Tikki (a clothing outlet).

Marjane holding has currently 38 hypermarkets across the kingdom, in addition to 37 Acima supermarkets.

The company is the by-far leading hypermarket chain in Morocco with more than 55 million clients per year.
