Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A statement from the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that “the Kingdom of Morocco, whose Sovereign, His Majesty the King Mohammed VI chairs Al-Quds Committee, follows with great concern and worry the invasion, on Sunday, of Al Aqsa Mosque by extremist Jewish groups, under the protection of Israeli forces, who violently assaulted Palestinian worshipers.”

“While strongly condemning this dangerous and unacceptable escalation that brings harm to the sacredness of Al Aqsa Mosque, with a view of taking hold, later, of this holy place, through an attempt to divide it in time and space, Morocco calls for putting an end to all Israeli escalation acts meant to impose the policy of fait accompli,” the statement added.

“Morocco also calls the international community to take its responsibility in protecting the city of Al Quds and Al Aqsa Mosque and put an end to all Israeli violations, in order to avoid hurting the feelings of Muslims worldwide, and undermining the efforts and initiatives aimed at finding a final and fair settlement to the Palestinian cause,” the statement closed.
