New York, U.S. (TMT)- The community of Moroccans living in Canada took to the streets of Montreal to demonstrate against the exorbitant prices Royal Air Maroc incurs them and requested leading international companies to create direct flights linking the United States of America and Canada to the kingdom of Morocco, currently monopolized by Royal Air Maroc.

The Moroccan community living in North America say they are suffering “from terrible services, major delays, lost luggage, total indifference, poor service and extremely expensive prices,” an online petition reads.

A Moroccan living abroad, who took part in a boycott demonstration in Montreal this weekend said that the “prices are extremely high. We can’t travel back to Morocco to spend summer with our families. One ticket costs around $US 2000. Imagine if you have 3 kids, you’d have to pay $US 10000 for the family just for the traveling costs! That is insane. Royal Air Maroc is taking advantage of its monopoly of direct flights to Morocco to ask for exorbitant prices. That is why we are boycotting it. ”

“There is an urgent and huge demand for such service, and we don’t quite understand why there is no interest from the part of major North American companies to link this destination,” the said online petition stresses.

This is not the first time Moroccans living in North America echo their anger at Royal Air Maroc. Every now and then, members of the Moroccan community in North America organize demonstrations, launch a petition or a boycott call in a bet to end their ongoing struggle and suffering with Royal Air Maroc.
