Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Various European farmers, who cannot sell their products in Russia because of the embargo, resorted to using the “Made in Morocco” label to trick the Russian authorities into believing that those products are originally from Morocco, not Europe.
The trick seems to have worked for a bit, but the Russian authorities just destroyed last week a huge quantity of fake “Made in Morocco” products after discovering the mischief.
Now that the trick was unveiled, the Russian authorities seem more alert to such unethical practices, prompting the customs to come up with new ways to unveil the real origin of the fruits and vegetables that cross the Russian borders.
