Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to various local reports in Morocco, all relaying a story run by Moroccan Arabic-based news outlet Al Ayam 24, the local authorities in tangier have successfully negotiated with Volkswagen to build a plant in the said city.
According to the said source, Volkswagen chose Morocco over Algeria and Tunisia not only given the country’s proximity to Europe, but mainly because of its political stability.
It is worth reminding that Morocco is increasingly being considered now as a hub for the car manufacturing industry, with companies like Renault[Dacia], Peugeot and Ford all having opened, or at least some in the last stages of opening, plants in the Moroccan kingdom.
