In June 2015, Azelis founded its first subsidiary in Africa, Azelis Morocco. Located in Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, this investment forms part of the Azelis strategy to target countries with a high growth potential. With an economic progression of 4.4% for the past ten years, and a population of 34 million from which the youth constitute the majority, Morocco offers attractive development opportunities to Azelis.

Initially Azelis will focus on specialty ingredients and additives distribution for the Food & Health industry in Morocco and will look to serve the Maghreb region in the future.

Lotfi Iraqi Houssaïni, Country Manager Azelis Morocco said, “Azelis’ success relies on both the business and technical excellence of its people and the high quality ingredients delivered by its principals. Azelis Morocco aims to reproduce this winning formula and we are proud to have been able to attract a wide portfolio of specialist food ingredients thanks to the support of our principals. We are building a team of specialist sales managers who will combine expert advice and business know how with strong technical and market knowledge, thereby providing the best possible service to our customers.”

At every step of the product development process, Azelis’ team of experts will work closely with customers to meet emerging trends, product improvements or to achieve desired characteristics in the final product. Its wide range of specialist food ingredients can help improve the taste, texture, colour, functionalities and nutritional profile all tailored to needs.

To further improve its value added service offering, Azelis Morocco has invested in a dedicated in house application laboratory, where innovative demonstration concepts, new ingredient combinations, trials and training will take place.

“Our vision is to continue to build upon the complete package of innovative ingredients, technical solutions and customer service thereby meeting customers and consumers desire for healthy, tasty and convenient foods,” Houssaïni adds.

Going forward and in line with the Group’s strategy, Azelis Morocco is planning on expanding its activity into the Pharmaceutical and Personal Care industries.
