Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Minister of Justice Mr. Mustapha Ramid said during a meeting of the Commission of Justice and Legislation in the House of Representatives of the Moroccan parliament that “Morocco aims to raise the bar up when it comes to the country’s level of adhering to human rights in Morocco.”

“Some Human rights organizations and associations seem not willing to believe that Morocco aims at moving forth when it comes to adhering to the tenets and principles of Human rights,” Ramid said.

“There is a strong will to end torture, while kidnapping has become a matter of the past as in Morocco, we did no longer record record any cases involving this practice,” Ramid added.

“This year, 101 medical examinations related to torture took place and we took the necessary measures against the officials that were found guilty of torturing people,” Ramid further noted.

“Our struggle now is clearly to end torture. We can eradicate it, but there are many difficulties that stand in our way and this is due to multiple factors, like education. An educated Moroccan citizen should be convinced by the concept of the rule of the law, human rights, as well as the concept of freedom,” the Moroccan Minister of Justice stressed.
