Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to Reuters, the Turkish authorities have warned France twice about one of the orchestrators of the Paris terrorist attack that left at least 130 people dead, but the French did not take the warnings seriously.

Turkey warned France on December 2014 and June 2015 about Omar Ismaïl Mostefaï, a senior Turkish government official said on Monday.

The Turkish official stressed that Turkey received a request on information about Ismael Omar Mostefai only after Friday’s attacks.

The Turkish official said that Mostefai entered Turkey in 2013 but they could not track whether he left Syria or not.

Nevertheless, Turkey warned France on December 2014 and June 2015 about the terrorist.

“This is not a time to play the blame game, but we are compelled to share (this) information to shed light on (Mostefai’s) travel history,” the Turkish official said.

“(His) case clearly establishes that intelligence sharing and effective communication are crucial to counter-terrorism efforts,” the official said.
