Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan authorities started an investigation to determine the circumstances of the death of a person who fainted away while he was in custody at a police station located in the well-known Jemaa El Fna Square in Marrakesh.

The deceased, a man born in 1961, “had a conflict with a person who accused him of harassment,” a statement from the Marrakesh Police Headquarters said.

“This person fainted and had to be transferred urgently to the hospital where he passed away,” the statement further noted.

“Witnesses who were at the police station were interviewed and the body is under autopsy to determine the full circumstances of the death,” the statement closed.
