Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A 28-year-old Moroccan passed away few hours after setting himself ablaze in the center of the pocket city of Dcheira El Jihadia, located 40kms south of Agadir, Morocco.
According to local witnesses, the man who was a bouncer at a disco in the said city was ‘psychologically broken’ following his dismissal from his job.
Local witnesses said the man sprayed gasoline on him and started shouting hysterically in one of the main avenues of Dcheira, warning anyone who gets closer to him that he’ll set himself ablaze.
Local witnesses said the authorities came at the scenes and told him they’ll intervene with the owner of the night club so that he could get back his job, but the young man was out of his mind and would not listen to anyone.
Few minutes later, the bouncer set himself ablaze.
Initially, security forces and bystanders tried to extinguish the flames before the man was rushed to the Hassan II hospital in Agadir.
In turn, after receiving initial treatment in Agadir, the man was sent in expedition to the Marrakesh-based Ibn Rochd hospital, due to his very critical situation.
The bouncer was pronounced dead few minutes after reaching Ibn Rochd.
