Rabat, Morocco(TMT)- During his honoring last week at the New York Museum of Modern Art for his efforts to preserve Jewish burial places in Morocco, King Mohammed VI said in an address read by former Moroccan Minister of Tourism Serge Berdugo that the Jewish legacy has been an intrinsic part of Morocco.

“This is a testimony to the richness and diversity of the kingdom of Morocco’s spiritual heritage. Blending harmoniously with the other components of our identity,” King Mohammed VI’s address read.

“The Jewish legacy, with its rituals and specific features, has been an intrinsic part of our country’s heritage for more than three thousand years,” King Mohammed VI added in his address.

“As is enshrined in the kingdom’s new Constitution, the Hebrew heritage is indeed one of the time-honored components of our national identity,” King Mohammed VI’s address closed.
