Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI granted the Moroccan citizenship to seven people on humanitarian grounds.

The youngest among the seven is a girl born in 2000 in Berlin, Germany. Her parents too, of Lebanese origins, were granted the Moroccan citizenship.

Two men born in France and a Libyan national were also granted the Moroccan nationality.

It is worth reminding that the Moroccan citizenship can only be granted following a Royal Dahir, the king’s decree.

Most of the time, it may be granted to people who have rendered services to Morocco or on humanitarian grounds as was the case recently for some Syrian children.
