Hammouchi: Police Officers Who Used Excessive Force Will be Sanctioned

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to a story shared yesterday on Moroccan daily Ahdath, Abdellatif hammouchi, the head of of the General Directorate of National Security (known under its French acronym DGNS) has ordered the opening of an investigation into the violence that was used by some police officers to disperse teacher trainees during a national demonstration on January 7th.

According to Ahdath, citing sources within the DNSG, Abdelattif Hammouchi said that “any police officer found guilty of the use of excessive force during those events would be sanctioned immediately.”

According to said outlet, the investigation will determine, also, whether the violence used during the various manifestations, which took place as a matter of fact in several cities of the kingdom, was excessive or not.
