Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Republic of Suriname adds to the list of South American countries that have withdrawn last years their recognition of the so-called Sahraoui Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).

Suriname said in a statement released by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the decision was motivated by a will “to adopt a constructive neutrality to support the efforts made by the United Nations and the international community to find a just and mutually acceptable political solution.”

It is worth reminding that the Republic of Suriname has been recognizing the so-called “SADR” since August 21, 1982, before withdrawing the recognition yesterday.
