Rabat, Morocco(TMT)- In the wake of King Mohammed VI’s visit to Russia and his prospective meeting with the Russian president Vladimir Putin, the Russian President’s official website published a statement about the prospective meeting.

“The leaders will discuss current issues of the Russian-Moroccan cooperation. Broadening trade and economic connections, including in the sphere of energy and agricultural cooperation, is a priory topic,” the statement read in the Russian language.

“Both leaders will also discuss current international issues, with a focus on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, including the situation in Syria.

“Both leaders will be chairing the signing of a number of bilateral agreements in various fields,” the statement closed.

The visit will come to boost the cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, especially given that Morocco is deemed Russia’s top trade partner in Africa and the Arab World.

It is worth reminding that Morocco’s exports to Russia mainly concern the agricultural sector.

Morocco’s export to Russia have, as a matter of fact, rocketed since the European Union put an embargo on the Russian bear two years ago, back when the Crimea conflict erupted.
