Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- As, in the last couple of days, the north region of Morocco, including the southern one of Spain, witnessed recurrent earthquakes and seismic rebounds, Spanish seismic experts Carlos López Casado and Jesús Henares predict that more seismic rebounds may occur in Morocco’s north this year, even though stressing that their magnitude is constantly decreasing.

The experts said that it is very difficult to predict an earthquake, but it is possible to tell if seismic rebounds may still occur or not.

The experts have not ruled out, nevertheless, the possibility of a high magnitude earthquake in the region, one of up to six degrees on the Richter scale, as witnessed on the 25th of last January.

The Spanish experts said that the number of seismic rebounds that has hit Morocco’s northern region, only since last February, exceeded 1700, with their magnitude ranging between 2 to 4 on the Richter scale.
