Rabat, Morocco(TMT)- The Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar, said yesterday during a press conference that “we are at odds with Ban Ki-moon, not with the United Nations.”
“As a result of Ban Ki-moon’s deviation from the obligations and mission of a Secretary General, which require of him a duty of objectivity and impartiality and the respect of the references established by the UN bodies, Morocco’s government response was logical and natural, a very strong response to those deviations,” Mezouar stressed.
Mezouar further added that “the Secretary-General of the United Nations is trying to influence the international public opinion and members of the Security Council based on his personal point of view.”
“The Secretary-General of the United Nations should not express his personal views, given the nature of his mission,” Mezouar added.
