Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) were thrashed yesterday in Tangier by buoyant Ittihad Riadi Tanger (IRT) 3-0, in a stadium fully packed with Tangiers supporters.
Tangier’s three goals were scored by El Medhi Karnass (own goal, 6th minute) Herve Guy (36th minute) and Abdelghani Mouaoui (46th minute).
The WAC seems to not have given the game much interest and focus as they are preparing for the away leg of the CAF against African Champions League defenders, Tout Puissant Mazembe, from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Despite the loss Wydad is still leading the Moroccan football league, 4 points ahead of Tangier.
