Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The head of the separatist movement, the Polisario Front, Mohamed Abdelaziz sent yesterday a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban ki-moon, “concerning the serious developments that are still facing the UN efforts in Western Sahara,” the press service of the separative movement said.

Abdelaziz indicated in his letter to Ban “the need for concrete steps by the UN Security Council to confront the intransigence of the Moroccan state and its disregard to UN resolutions and to the international community.”

Abdelaziz also stressed that “the Saharawi people will follow all legitimate means to restore the right to freedom and self-determination.”

It is worth reminding that even though the letter says that Morocco disregarded the UN Security Council resolutions, the statement is all but true as no security council resolution has used the “occupation” word terminology, which Ban used recently, unprecedentedly, in light of his visit to the region. This unprecedented use of the word occupation is a blatant disregard to the security council’s resolutions.
