Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The United Nations officially provided Morocco with a draft copy of Ban Ki-moon’s yearly report on the Sahara, in a bet to get the country’s comments and propose amendments.

Nevertheless, and even though Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the UN, said during yesterday’s daily noon briefing that the aim of sharing the report early with the parties of the conflict is “to consult with parties on reports,” he stressed that “at the end of the day, it is the Secretary‑General’s report. It will have his signature on it.”

“Any decision as to what is in or out of the report will be the Secretary‑General’s.

“It is the Secretary‑General’s report. It will be his opinion, and his only, that is reflected in the report,” Dujarric stressed.

It is worth reminding that the submission of Ban’s official report on the Sahara has been postponed twice this month. It was initially scheduled for the 8th of April, but then adjourned to Friday 15th, to only get postponed yet again for April 26th.

The security council will adopt, on the 28th of April, a new resolution on the Sahara issue.
