Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The three parties that constitute Morocco’s alliance of the Federation of the Democratic Left, namely the Unified Socialist Party, the Socialist Democratic Vanguard Party, and the National Ittihadi Congress party requested a probe into the offshore dealings of notorious Moroccan personalities, dealing made public by the recent release of the Panama Papers.

In a statement issued on April 20, the aforementioned alliance, well-known under its French acronym FDG, requested “a transparent and fast investigation” on the Panama Papers revelations.

According to the statement, the request comes in light of the mentioning of “several well-known Moroccan personalities, including influential Moroccan officials,” in the panama papers trove of documents.

The FDG also said that the public should be kept informed about the details of the investigation, including the necessary legal measures taken to investigate the case.
