Morocco sends two Canadair airplanes to Help Extinguish Fire in Portugal

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- King Mohammed VI has given his instructions for the deployment of two Canadair airplanes to help Morocco’s northern neighbor and sister-country Portugal extinguish a major wildfire that broke out in Portugal’s Madeira Island, encroaching on the island’s capital Funchal.

The sad event lead to the death of 4 people and the evacuation of more than 1000 ones, including no less than 200 others seeking medical treatment.

The head of Madeira’s regional government, Miguel Albuquerque, said yesterday that the fire is now under control.
