Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan authorities seized in the Chtouka Ait Baha locality, in the wee hours of Sunday, a truck carrying 50 stolen sheep, including arresting the truck driver, while the other accomplices fled the scene as soon as the truck was brought to a halt point.

The Royal Gendarme members understood what was happening when they saw the thieves fleeing the scene, leaving the truck driver alone.

The driver acknowledged that the gang stole the sheep from a local farm in Chtouka Ait Baha.

The thieves were planning to sell the sheep in a remote souk.

Their plan, however, fell short as their truck was controlled at a checkpoint by members of the Royal gendarmerie.

The truck driver’s accomplices are still on the loose.

An investigation is underway to identify and arrest the other criminals.
