Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The Moroccan Police are looking for the individual(s) who vandalized a huge number of newly planted trees, damaging the majority of them in the wee hours of Sunday in the pocket city of Tiznit, located around 100 kms south of Agadir.

The police are now calling for witnesses who may have seen the incident take place.

Some people from the PJD party are accusing members of the opposition to have hired a number of contract criminals to vandalize the trees, especially that they were planted by the municipality of Tiznit, currently presided by the PJD party.

The head of the Rabat Salé Kenitra Region, Sekkal Abdessamad, made no bones about calling the spade a spade, though without referring to anyone by name.

The man said in a Facebook post, “they are destroying trees that were planted by the Tiznit municipality council, headed by the Justice and Development. Those are narrow political calculations.”
