Tangier, Morocco (TMT)- A huge fire broke out yesterday afternoon in the forest surrounding the beautiful Dalia beach of Laksar Sghir, north of Morocco.
The fire started yesterday at approximately 2pm local time.
The fire raged in the aftermath fueled by the ongoing summer heatwave and the region’s well-known strong winds.
Many people sunbathing were forced to leave as the smokes made way to the beach.
At the time of writing, the Moroccan civil protection, the High Commission for Water and Forests and the Fight against Desertification, the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, and Auxiliary Forces are still trying to contain the fire.
