Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- In an interview featured on Moroccan paper Akhbar Al Yaoum in its today edition, Morocco’s well-known businessman, Karim Tazi, said that Morocco’s rich people are not afraid of the PJD, deemed an Islamist party.

The man said that quite the contrary, well-to-do Moroccans support the PJD, further noting that all stereotypes and prejudices about Islamists are no more.

Among others, Tazi stressed that all prejudices were carried by Morocco’s Makhzen, especially that claims associating islamists with the belief that they will ban alcohol, close pubs and bars, and force women to cover themselves, among others, were ripe among Morocco’s wealthy people.

“There was concern about individual liberties,” Tazi stressed.

“But following 4 years in power, it became obvious that the Justice and Development party does not threaten individual liberties,” Tazi further noted.
