Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- In an interview given to Al Horra, The secretary general of the PAM, Ilysass el Omari, said that “no Moroccan party emerged in the Moroccan political sphere as a result of support from the monarchy, or the other way around,” further noting that all Moroccan parties “follow a specific ideological thought” and “are founded based on a common need for a community project.”

El Omari told Al Horra that to him, “Secularism is a philosophical concept.”

“I stand for the separation of powers.

“I stand for the separation of religion from politics. If the aforementioned means secularism, then we are secular.

“We stand for the concept of civil state, not a religious one,” El Omari stressed.
