Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- According to a news story featured in today’s edition of Moroccan paper Akhbar Al Yaoum, the secretary-general of the Unified Socialist Party (well known under its French acronym PSU), Nabila Mounib said that the PJD is a reactionary party, “one staunchly opposing political, social progress and reform.”

Nabila Mounib, who was speaking in Marrakesh last Saturday where she gave the kickoff of the election campaign of the Union of the Democratic Left, said that the PJD is “not a conservative party, rather a reactionary one.”

“On the political and social levels, the head of the government acted in a conservative way,” Mounib stressed.

“On the economical level, he opted for a wild liberalism approach,” Mounib added.

Among others, Mounib said that Benkirane is a “good student of international financial institutions.”

Mounib criticized staunchly the initial draft Penal Code presented few months ago by the government, stressing that it supported “legalizing honor crimes”.

“The PJD party tries to bury the principle of a full-fledged equality between men and women, even though this principle is enshrined in the Moroccan Constitution,” Mounib stressed.
