Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- Only few days before the holding of the parliamentary elections in Morocco, Corruption watchdog Transparency Morocco released a communiqué where it said that the there is no significant progress in the fight against corruption in the Moroccan kingdom.
Transparency Morocco said that there is a “weak will” to fight corruption in Morocco, further stressing that “the entire political class is responsible for this failure.”
The Corruption watchdog organization said it regrets the dropping by the Moroccan authorities of several laws and draft laws that were aimed to fight corruption.
“Neither the articles of the Constitution, nor the promises made in the electoral programs,” have materialized according to the NGO.
The government commitments have not materialized, “confirming the weak will to fight corruption” in Morocco, Transparency said.
