Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- A statement from the Royal Office said yesterday that German Chancellor Angela Merkel will make a state visit to Morocco early 2017.
Morocco’s news agency La MAP relayed the piece of news from the Royal Office yesterday, adding that “Merkel accepted the sovereign’s invitation to pay an official visit to Morocco early 2017,” it said.
The scheduling of the visit came on the sidelines of the phone conversation the Moroccan monarch King Mohammed VI held yesterday with the German Chancellor, a conversation that revolved, mainly, around the migration policy, especially in regard to Morocco committing itself “to optimizing and rationalizing the management of migration inflows.”
