Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- King Mohammed VI appointed this afternoon the secretary general of the Justice and Development Party (PJD), Abdellilah Benkirane, head of the Moroccan government, following the moderate Islamist party’s victory in last Friday’s elections.
The Justice and Development Party won the most votes in a landslide, winning 126 seats, 21 more than 2011.
King Mohammed VI received Abdelilah Benkirane in Casablanca.
King Mohammed VI gave Benkirane the task of forming a new government.
