Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- In an interview with Russian state news agency Sputnik, on the sidelines of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) winning Morocco’s general elections, historian and African affairs expert Bernard Lugan said that “there are two things Moroccans will never budge on,” the monarchy and the Sahara.
“For 30 years the problem of the Western Sahara has made it possible to bring opposition anti-monarchist parties back into the political fold,” Lugan stressed.
“The Western Sahara is something Moroccans will never agree to give up,” Lugan added.
