Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- In the wake of the attack perpetrated by Houthis militia fighters in Yemen against the Emirati civilian ship “Swift”, which ensured the delivery of food and medical aid, as well as the evacuation of wounded Yemenis, Morocco condemned the attack, stressing that the “Kingdom considers this aggression to be contrary to the merchant marine law, and to be an element likely to undermine efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in this brotherly country.”

Morocco is “welcoming the initiatives of the brotherly and friendly countries in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, including the initiative undertaken by the Emirati ship and the King Salman Rescue Center, and the humanitarian action for Yemen,” a communiqué relayed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation said.

“The Kingdom of Morocco emphasizes the necessity to give utmost importance to the humanitarian aspect, which is a vital need for Yemeni civilians and a facilitating factor for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Yemen,” the commniqué closed.
