USFP Party looks set to join the government coalition

Rabat, Morocco (TMT)- The secretary general of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD) and Saad Eddine El Othmani, deemed the PJD party’s no.2, welcomed to the PJD party’s headquarters in Rabat yesterday night representatives of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party (USFP), namely Driss Lachgar, the secretary general, and Habib El Malki, former Minister of Education in the cabinet of Driss Jettou (2002–2007), to discuss the possibility of luring the USFP in their government coalition.

The closed-doors meeting took around 1:30 hrs to finish up.

Driss Lachgar told Moroccan media in a press briefing that the decision rests upon the shoulders of “the head of the government to make a detailed offer,” about his expectations, further stressing that he “will strive to help the head of government to succeed in his mission.”
